Store Conversion

The Bayview Healthy Retail Model outlined by the Southeast Food Access Working Group was adapted in the Tenderloin to encourage healthy offerings in corner stores while training food justice advocates to actively engage the community.

The following are Tenderloin neighborhood corner stores and markets that became Tenderloin Healthy Corner Stores:

Radman’s Produce Market

Address:

201 Turk St # D, San Francisco, CA 94102

Hours:

10:00am – 10:00pm (Mondays-Saturdays)

12:00pm – 10:00pm (Sundays)

Reset Date:  Winter/Spring 2014

Changes: New dry produce bins, metro shelving, bulk bins, new lighting for wet produce. Radman’s independently put in and worked with SF Shines to get a facade improvement including new windows, awning, and store logo. Tobacco and alcohol ads were removed that were under 4 feet.

Changes: New metro shelving, new dry produce rack, new wet produce rack, replaces wine cooler with water and 100% juices. Tobacco and alcohol ads were removed that were under 4 feet.

Changes: new dry produce bins, new display for healthy snacks, and a colorful mural to promote fresh produce and also serves as a graffiti abatement strategy. Tobacco and alcohol ads were removed that were under 4 feet.
